This sweet Saratoga family recently welcomed the tiniest new member of their crew—a handsome baby boy! At just over three weeks old during our session, Baby L was so cute. One of the most special parts of the morning was documenting four generations together: baby, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. What a gift to witness and preserve such a meaningful legacy.


We moved throughout several rooms in their home—the primary bedroom, the nursery, and the living room—all filled with soft, natural light that created the perfect backdrop for relaxed, heartfelt moments. We even stepped outside for a few portraits under their gorgeous redwood tree, adding a touch of nature to this cozy in-home session. One especially sweet detail: Baby L was wrapped in a beautiful blanket lovingly knitted by his mama, adding such a personal, sentimental touch to the photos.

Their two cats also made a few delightful appearances throughout the session—something I absolutely love incorporating when the opportunity presents itself. As a wildlife photographer as well, I have a soft spot for pets and their unique personalities. The final image in their gallery? A perfect, unscripted moment with one of the cats as the star—a role typically claimed by dogs—but this feline briefly (and brilliantly!) cooperated.


As a Bay Area lifestyle newborn photographer, these in-home sessions are where the magic truly happens. There's something incredibly intimate about capturing families in their own space during those early weeks—no rush, no pressure, just gentle posing guidance and genuine connection. From sleepy stretches to quiet cuddles, it’s always an honor to witness and document the love unfolding in front of my lens.
