As a newborn photographer, I never ask my clients to tidy up before my arrival. You’re busy with your little one, and the last thing you need is the added pressure of cleaning! Dishes in the sink? No problem—we won’t be photographing there! And rest assured, your photographer won’t judge!
However, if you’d like to give your home a little extra love before the session, here are some easy tips to prepare without the stress:
- Choose the Best Spots: The master bedroom, nursery, and living room often make for the best locations.
- Declutter Strategically: A quick decluttering session can do wonders! Clear off bedside tables and end tables by stashing items in drawers or moving them temporarily. This creates clean tabletops that enhance your photos.
- Neutral Bedding: A fresh, neutral bedspread on your master bed can elevate your photos. If your comforter is too busy, consider using a solid-color blanket for a clean look.
- Don’t Overthink It: If you don’t have time to tidy up, don’t worry! I always tell my clients that they are doing enough just by caring for their new baby.
