10-Month-Old Baby & Family Photos at Vasona Park in Los Gatos
There is something so special about getting to photograph a baby again after their newborn session. I first met this sweet little boy when he was a tiny newborn, and now, at 10 months old, he is such a happy, curious and observant big boy! For his family's photo session, we met at Vasona Park in Los Gatos during golden hour. Vasona is one of my favorite locations for family photography because there is so much variety within a relatively small area — beautiful trees and open spaces, the lake, bridges, and of course, the train tracks that are always fun for little ones. And this little guy was definitely ready to explore!
At 10 months old, he was interested in everything happening around him. He loved sitting on the train tracks and bridge, watching the people passing by, waving hello and taking everything in. Some of my favorite photographs from the evening are simply of him looking around with that wonderfully curious expression babies have at this age. Of course, we also made plenty of time for playing. His parents were so much fun with him throughout the session, playing airplane, turning him upside down and doing all the little things that make him laugh. As the sun dropped lower, we headed toward the bridge and lake, where the golden-hour light was absolutely beautiful. The soft evening light gave us a gorgeous backdrop for family photographs while still allowing this little guy plenty of freedom to look around, play and be himself. Baby sessions around this age are especially fun because so much personality has emerged since the newborn stage. Babies are sitting, interacting with their parents, and becoming fascinated by the world around them.
It was such a joy seeing this family again and getting to document how much their baby boy has grown since I photographed him as a newborn. From a tiny newborn snuggled safely at home to a curious 10-month-old sitting on the bridge, waving at passersby and exploring Vasona — what a difference a few months makes!
