A Relaxed IN-HOME Newborn PHOTOgraphy SESSION in Palo Alto
Palo Alto In-Home Newborn Session With Sweet Baby Girl and Proud Big Brother
I recently had the joy of photographing a beautiful in-home newborn session for a lovely family in Palo Alto. Their sweet baby girl was around six weeks old and already beginning to show the earliest little smiles. She was incredibly calm and content throughout the session, allowing us to capture a wonderful mix of both awake and sleepy newborn portraits.
One of my favorite parts of this session was documenting the connection between this baby girl and her loving family — especially the sweet moments with her proud toddler brother. Lifestyle newborn photography is always about more than perfectly posed images; it’s about preserving the feeling of these fleeting early days together. Big brother enjoyed playing with his parents during the session, doing "airplane" and other fun toddler games, giving lots of great smiles, and I loved photographing them together.
We photographed much of the session in the family’s primary bedroom using soft natural window light, which created a peaceful and timeless feel for their images. We also used another bedroom with beautiful light, along with their cozy bay window area that photographed beautifully. Toward the end of the session, we stepped outside into their shaded outdoor space for a few relaxed family portraits surrounded by greenery.
One of the things I love most about in-home newborn photography is how comfortable and low-stress it feels for new parents. There’s no need to pack up the baby or rush out the door — everything happens naturally in the comfort of home while we follow the baby’s pace. These relaxed sessions often lead to the most genuine moments and meaningful photographs.
As a newborn photographer serving Palo Alto, Mountain View, San Jose, and surrounding Bay Area communities, I specialize in natural, baby-led newborn photography with a calm and relaxed approach. I can’t wait to share more from this beautiful Palo Alto newborn session soon.
