Mountain View AT Home Newborn Session With A Sweet Baby Girl
I recently had the joy of photographing the sweetest baby girl during an in-home newborn session in Mountain View, California. At around three weeks old, she was already beginning to show us some of her earliest little smiles! She was incredibly calm and content throughout our time together, which allowed us to capture a beautiful mix of both awake and sleepy newborn portraits. One of my favorite parts of this session was documenting the connection between this baby girl and her loving parents. They were completely smitten with her — and it was pretty clear the feeling was mutual! At one point, she stared intently into her daddy's face and seemed completely mesmerized by him. I love capturing these little unscripted moments between parents and their new babies.
We photographed throughout the family's Mountain View home, including their living room, primary bedroom, and baby's nursery, using the soft natural window light available in each space. I always love photographing a beautiful nursery when a family has one, but a finished nursery is definitely not a requirement for an in-home newborn session. Some of my favorite newborn photographs are created in the simplest spaces with beautiful window light and a family loving on their new baby.
That's one of the things I love most about at home newborn photography: new parents don't have to pack up the baby, gather everything they might need or worry about getting out the door on time, instead I bring the newborn session to you, and we photograph your family in the comfort of your own home while following your baby's pace. My newborn sessions are relaxed and baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing and snuggling whenever your baby needs it. There is no pressure for a newborn to sleep through the entire session, as awake photographs are just as special — especially when your baby is calmly looking around, making eye contact with you and beginning to show off their personality. I loved spending the morning with this wonderful family and documenting their baby girl during these fleeting first weeks.
