San Jose In-Home Family Photography Session with Three Sweet Kids

I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family of five during a fun and relaxed in-home family photography session in San Jose. With three sweet kids, including an adorable 11-month-old baby who was already walking incredibly fast, there was plenty of energy, laughter and fun throughout our time together! We started the session in the family's lovely shaded backyard, which provided a beautiful setting for a mix of traditional family portraits and more playful, candid moments. I always love incorporating movement into family photography sessions, especially with young children. Rather than expecting everyone to sit still and smile at the camera the entire time, I encourage families to play, interact and simply enjoy being together. Those natural moments often become some of the favorite memories!


Their youngest was certainly keeping everyone on their toes! At just 11 months old, this little one was already walking so quickly, making for some wonderfully fun and spontaneous moments. It's amazing how much babies change during their first year, and I love capturing their emerging personalities and newfound independence.

After spending some time outdoors, we moved inside to the family's primary bedroom for more photographs. The family bed is often one of my favorite places for in-home baby and family photography, providing a cozy, comfortable setting for everyone to snuggle together, play and have fun. We captured a lovely combination of relaxed family portraits and playful moments with all three children. I love capturing various family members as the "star" on the edge of the bed too!


One of the things I love most about at-home family photography sessions is how comfortable and personal they feel. Children are often happiest in their own familiar surroundings, where they can relax, play and be themselves. There's no need to pack everyone up or travel to a location, and we can take advantage of both indoor and outdoor spaces to create a beautiful variety of images. It was such a joy spending time with this sweet San Jose family and documenting this fun stage of life with their children. From playful moments in the backyard to snuggles and laughter on the bed, I loved capturing the love and connection they share.
